Owls’ Run to the Big Dance Ends in Loss to Gonzaga
In the NCAA Tournament for the second time as a 14 seed, Kennesaw State again played well above its seed, leading No. 3 seed Gonzaga for the majority of the first half and making it a two-possession game in the final minutes before falling 73-64 in the first round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship on Thursday night at the Moda Center.

Owls Claim First-Ever Conference USA Basketball Championship Title
Kennesaw State played one of its best defensive games of the season, holding Louisiana Tech to under 31% from the floor to claim its first-ever Conference USA Men's Basketball Championship title, a 71-60 victory on Saturday at VBC Propst Arena. The Owls (21-13) received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, their second-ever trip to March Madness.

No. 6 Kennesaw State (20-13, 10-10 CUSA) advances to the championship final, defeating No. 2 Sam Houston (22-11, 13-7 CUSA) 79-73 in the semifinal round of the 2026 CUSA Championship Friday at Propst Arena at the Von Braun Center. KSU freshman guard Amir Taylor popped off for 17 second half points with a game-high 23 points in the upset win. RJ Johnson added 20 points.

Hot-Shooting Owls Top Bears
Kennesaw State's RJ Johnson scored seven of his game-high 29 points in the final two minutes including the go-ahead free throw and then a short jumper with 37 seconds for a three-point edge in the Owls' 91-87 road victory at Missouri State in Conference USA men's basketball action on Wednesday night from the Great Southern Bank Arena. The Owls earned a season sweep of the Bears, moving to 15-11 overall, 7-8 in league play.
