Kennesaw State used a huge game from RJ Johnson and the best three-point shooting performance in 10 years to claim a 74-65 victory over first-place Liberty in a thrilling Conference USA men's basketball contest on Thursday in VyStar Arena. With their 4th win over the Flames in the last 7 meetings, KSU moves to 17-11 overall to clinching back-to-back winning seasons.

Hot-Shooting Owls Top Bears
Kennesaw State's RJ Johnson scored seven of his game-high 29 points in the final two minutes including the go-ahead free throw and then a short jumper with 37 seconds for a three-point edge in the Owls' 91-87 road victory at Missouri State in Conference USA men's basketball action on Wednesday night from the Great Southern Bank Arena. The Owls earned a season sweep of the Bears, moving to 15-11 overall, 7-8 in league play.

Owls Fall in Another High-Scoring Battle
Despite three players scoring 20+ points, Kennesaw State (14-11, 6-8 CUSA) suffered a third straight loss as Sam Houston State (17-8, 9-5 CUSA) used an 8-2 run in the final three minutes to hold on for an 83-79 win over the Owls Saturday in CUSA action from VyStar Arena. The Bearkats are the second straight opponent to shoot over 50%, hitting 28-of-51 from the floor (54.9%), and 7-of-17 from behind the arc (41.2%).

Owls Drop Road Contest at Jax State
A shorthanded Kennesaw State men's basketball team that played the final 25 minutes of the contest with just seven scholarship players saw dropped a 77-58 road contest at Jax State on Saturday night in Conference USA action from Pete Mathews Coliseum. The Owls dropped to 14-9 overall, 6-6 in league play, while the Gamecocks evened the season series to move to 13-10 overall, 8-4 in CUSA.

Record-Defensive Performance Leads to 76-53 win over NM State
After falling behind 10-1 to start the game, KSU finished the first half on a 42-14 run and used a school-record defensive performance to claim its 8th straight home victory, 76-53, over New Mexico State in Conference USA men's basketball action Saturday in VyStar Arena. The Owls set a new school record by holding the Aggies to a 25% field goal percentage for the game (12-of-48).
