Football Travels to Midweek Matchup with Middle Tennessee
Kennesaw State will play its first Tuesday night game as part of Conference USA when it travels 3.5 hours north to face Middle Tennessee in its second league game of the season. Tuesday's game will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs, despite being separated by just 200 miles. The game marks the 4th nationally televised matchup in KSU’s history.

The Owls fought valiantly throughout, but were just overmatched. At one point, trailing 21-3, KSU put up 14 unanswered points to pull to within 4 at the half. But, the third quarter saw the Gamecocks match that output and more with 21 in a row of their own to put the game out of reach, doubling the score at 49-17.

In just its fifth game as part of the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), the Owls (0-5, 0-1 CUSA) fought back from a 21-3 deficit.

Despite forcing three turnovers in the first half, penalties and miscues stymied Kennesaw State football's momentum as it fell 31-10 to San Jose State on Saturday night at CEFCU Stadium. Quarterback Davis Bryson finished with 128 yards passing on 14-of-22 passing to end the game. Linebacker Donelius Johnson led the Owls with six tackles and a tackle for loss.

The crowd was electric at the beginning of the game setting an all-time attendance record at 11,040 inside Fifth Third Stadium. In KSU’s first ever FBS home game, the scoring was early and often. The early part was the Owls who took the opening drive 74 yards downfield on 16 plays for a 7-0 lead. The Ragin’ Cajuns made some adjustments and stifled them moving forward.
