Canadian Trip, CUSA Debut Highlight Owls' 2024-25 Slate
There's no shortage of exciting games and trips for men's basketball this upcoming season. A first-ever home game against a Big Ten opponent, the first-ever KSU team to make a trip to Canada, and the Owls' debut in Conference USA highlight the 29-game slate. Rutgers, who is appearing in several preseason top-25 lists, will be just the second-ever Power Five team to make the trip to the Convocation Center.

Conference USA welcomes KSU as the league’s 10th member with Monday marking their official start in the conference. The Owls compete in 18 sports, 17 of which will compete in CUSA. Only women's lacrosse will remain in the ASUN. “This is a monumental day for Kennesaw State, University and we are proud to be members of Conference USA,” said Director of Athletics Milton Overton.

Kennesaw State's Simeon Cottle and Terrell Burden combined for 59 points, each topping the previous school single-game scoring record in the postseason, but the Owls couldn't stop Jacksonville's offensive output in the second half as they saw their season end Monday night with a 92-86 loss in the first round of the 2024 Atlantic Sun Championships. It was KSU's final game in the ASUN before moving to Conference USA.

KSU saw two players earn ASUN Men's Basketball season honors on Monday as for the second straight year Terrell Burden was the top vote receiver on the All-ASUN Second Team, while RJ Johnson was named to the ASUN All-Freshman team. Burden, a senior guard from Smyrna, Ga., currently ranks 7th in the league in scoring (16.5 points per game average), even better in conference play (18.7 ppg avg.).

Kennesaw State could not keep pace with the high scoring Queens Royals losing 91-82 in Curry Arena Friday in the regular season finale for both teams. The Owls finish the regular season at 15-15 overall. With its 6-10 conference record, KSU earned the ninth seed in next week's 2024 Atlantic Sun Men's Basketball Championships, and will face 10th-seed Jacksonville in the opening round on Monday, March 4 on the campus of Eastern Kentucky at 7 p.m..
