Owls Season Ends in 92-86 ASUN 1st Round Loss
Kennesaw State's Simeon Cottle and Terrell Burden combined for 59 points, each topping the previous school single-game scoring record in the postseason, but the Owls couldn't stop Jacksonville's offensive output in the second half as they saw their season end Monday night with a 92-86 loss in the first round of the 2024 Atlantic Sun Championships. It was KSU's final game in the ASUN before moving to Conference USA.

Kennesaw State saw two players earn Atlantic Sun Men's Basketball season honors on Monday as for the second straight year Terrell Burden was the top vote receiver on the All-ASUN Second Team, while RJ Johnson was named to the ASUN All-Freshman team. Burden, a senior guard from Smyrna, Ga., currently ranks 7th in the league in scoring (16.5 points per game average), even better in conference play (18.7 ppg avg.).

Kennesaw State could not keep pace with the high scoring Queens Royals losing 91-82 in Curry Arena Friday in the regular season finale for both teams. The Owls finish the regular season at 15-15 overall. With its 6-10 conference record, KSU earned the ninth seed in next week's 2024 Atlantic Sun Men's Basketball Championships, and will face 10th-seed Jacksonville in the opening round on Monday, March 4 on the campus of Eastern Kentucky at 7 p.m..

Kennesaw State was tied with 10 minutes to go but couldn't hold off a surge from the home team, as the Owls dropped an 84-72 road contest at Stetson on Saturday afternoon in Atlantic Sun Conference action from the Edmunds Center. The loss dropped KSU to 15-14 overall, 6-9 in league play while the Hatters held onto second place at 10-4 (18-11 overall). Stetson had a decisive advantage at the free throw line, as the Hatters made 27-of-37 at the line for 73%.

Four players finished in double figures and Kennesaw State dominated the boards on the way to a 74-67 road victory at FGCU Thursday in Atlantic Sun Conference action from Alico Arena. With their third straight win over the Eagles, KSU claimed its 15th win of the season, which is the second-most ever for the Owls in their Division I era. They moved to 15-13 overall, 6-8 in league play to climb into a tie for seventh place.
